Access to the ranch is by way of U.S. Highway 70 between San Patricio and Glencoe, approximately twenty miles east of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Access is private, gated and controlled from the highway. Approximately five acres lies south of the highway with the Rio Ruidoso River traversing the five acres. The "noisy river" is a perennial mountain stream that has good access and is well suited as a picnic site.

The main body of the ranch lies north of the highway within the foothills of the Sacramento Mountain range. Topography is described as mountainous, limestone canyon hill country with intermittent draws, meadows and headers that provide excellent habitat for wildlife. The landform is a ridge line with a saddle rising and separating the Rio Ruidoso River basin and the Rio Bonito River Basin to the north. The upper elevations of the ranch provide fantastic views of the Sierra Blanca Peak and the Capitan Mountain range. The semi-arid mild climate is located between the colder alpine high country and the warmer lower plains to the east.
